28 Weeks!!! 3rd Trimester!!!!

Welcome to the third and final trimester!!!! Wooohoo!!! We are officially in our 7th month! Last week I had a doctors appointment and we got to meet our new OBGYN thats going to deliver Penny. We both loved her! She was so nice! She did mention I was measuring very small and was a little concerned with baby's growth. So she had us do an ultrasound to make sure her growth was on track. Sure enough she's doing perfect! :)

We had our maternity pictures done this Sunday!! We had so much fun! We took them down at Seal Beach and we brought little Gizmo to join us in the family fun! :) We should get them back in a couple weeks! I'll be posting those as soon as we get them back!!!!

So.. I changed my mind on the furniture and we ended up ordering this!!! I think it fits her shabby chic style room much better! We should receive it next month! I cannot wait!!!!!!!

How your baby's growing:

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

26 Weeks!!!

Busy..Busy getting things ready!!!! These past two weeks we have been putting up wallpaper and nailing down all the decorating ideas! I've made some letters that spell out her name. They turned out so cute! I cannot wait for it to all be put together! Also made some curtain ties that will tie her curtains to the sides. I've decided to add some green into her color theme to give it alittle more colorful look. We will be ordering her furniture April 1st!!! eeekk!! I cannot wait for it to be done!

She's been kicking away and moving all the time. Just a few more weeks and we get the 4D ultrasound done! Cannot wait to see her little face! :)

How your baby's growing:

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip

23 Weeks!

We are getting closer!!!!!!! :) Baby Penelope is growing so much lately and kicking away!!! :) Felt hiccups for the first time a couple days ago. So weird and cute! hehe..

We have been very busy prepping her room for the wallpaper! We finally finished cleaning this weekend! Her room is all ready to go! We bought her some shelving to put in her closet for her shoes and blankets and things.

Went to see my regular doctor today about my migraines and he said my sinuses are swollen and I might have an infection up in my sinuses. Glad we find this out 2 months later that its just a sinus infection! Geezz people! So, hopefully that will be cured soon and these migraines will be gone forever! =D

I feel like its been forever since we had an ultrasound. I miss the little booger! We will have a 4D ultrasound done at 30 weeks so we can see what little PJ looks like :) I cant wait!

On my free time I've been making flower headbands for her and little accessories to accessorize her cuteness :) I think we might start our own mother daughter business called... "Junebug bows" :) She can be my little model. hehe...

Anyways.. Here's some photos of what we've been up to lately! :) Enjoy! Until next time!!!!

23 Weeks!

Shelving in her closet with damask print backing :)

Flowers that will attach to headbands

Crocheting her a blanket! Thanks Krissy for teaching me!! :)

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

21 Weeks!!!!!!

We are growing, growing, growing!!!!!! :) This week has been exciting for us! We finalized on a name...

Penelope June Dobernecker

She has been kicking so much!! She has a kicking schedule.. 5am,10am,3pm,6pm,10pm and 1am! Seem to be the schedule everyday! :) I posted a video of my tummy and if you look carefully you can see her move! haha!!

I've been feeling pretty good these days! I have my energy back and my love for food is DEFINITELY back!!!!! The migraines still come a couple times a week which is a bummer but at least its not everyday like it was.

We have been busy cleaning Penelope's nursery out. Going through things getting rid of a bunch of stuff. In the next couple weeks we will wash down the walls and put up the wallpaper. I just received the wallpaper today!! I will post a picture of what it looks like!! :) So excited to start decorating her nursery!

How your baby's growing:

Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you're having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well.

20 Weeks! Half way there!!!!!!

So, here we are half way there!!!!!  She's growing so fast now!! Notice how I say "she" cause Im not growing it's her ;) hehe.. I've been very busy breaking in our bank account buying all these cute new outfits for her! I just cant help myself! I got the wallpaper sample that I'm going to order for her nursery! It's perfect and the exact colors I wanted! Now it's time to shop for furniture and bedding! I love this!!! :) I will post pictures as the nursery is in progress. So much fun! I posted a couple pictures .. The ultrasound is of her profile at 18 weeks. This is when we found out we are having a girl. :) The other is of HER growing at 20 weeks. ;)

Baby, fetus at 20 weeks - BabyCenter

How your baby's growing:

Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)
He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

18 Weeks!!!

I cant even describe how happy we are to be having a baby girl! This has been such an exciting week for us! Of course I started shopping the day after we found out! Having a girl might not be so good for our bank account!!! eeekk!

This week has been alittle better with the headaches. Still having some bad days but seems like they aren't as often anymore. I feel like my belly has grown so much in the last week or so! We are really growing lately! Also, the past couple days I've been really feeling her move! Kicking all over the place! Such a weird feeling!!! Drew felt her kick for the first time yesterday. It made him melt like butter. He was so excited and so inlove. <3  I have a couple new ultrasound pictures that I will post soon. Also, an updated belly shot! Stay tuned!!!

Baby, fetus at 18 weeks - BabyCenter
Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

17 Weeks!!!!

This is the big week!!!!!!!!! We find out what were having on Wednesday!!! I just cant take it any longer!!!! Girl? Boy? Girl? Boy?
This week has been off and on for me. I've had a couple good days and some bad. I met my obgyn for the first time, which was... a bad experience =/ He went to go listen for the baby's heartbeat and couldn't hear it. I could tell he wasn't in the right spot on the tummy. He freaks out and calls the nurse to come in and bring the ultrasound machine immediately!! Now, if you want to give a mommy-to-be a heart attack..THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT! Needless to say everything was fine. He just didn't know what the heck he was doing!  I will be switching doctors lets just say that. I've been seeing the nurse practitioner since the pregnancy has been going so well. I had to see the obgyn this last time because of the migraines. He is referring me to a neurologist to get to the bottom of these migraines. I will update once I know whats going on. But, thats really all thats happened this week. I've just been doing a lot of resting and trying to fight off these headaches. I will be posting on Wednesday once we find out the sex. So make sure you check back!!!!!!!!!

Boy? Girl? Boy? Girl? Boy? Girl? Boy? Girl? Boy? Girl? Boy? Girl? Boy? Girl? Boy? Girl?

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

16 Weeks!!!

So, here we are at week 16 already! I keep hoping these weeks will get easier and they seem to be getting harder :( This week I was fighting extremely bad migraines. It all started on Saturday when I was in tears because my head was pounding so hard! My entire face was numb, my ears were plugged my eyes were fuzzy.. It was horrible! As the days went on the headaches got worse and worse and never went away. Once Tuesday rolled around I couldn't keep any food down. I was in so much pain that I couldn't even keep water in my system. I called my doctor and they told me to go to the ER right away. Drew took me to St. Jude where we checked into the ER (which has amazing service btw). We got in right away and they immediately gave me some pain medication and something for the vomiting. They ran a blood and urine test which both came back normal. The doctor said it was hormones from the pregnancy. So, they hooked me up to an IV and gave me fluids while I rested and let the meds kick in. Whatever they gave me made me very loopy and in a total daze! I had Drew laughing all night long haha!! Once I was released I had this sudden craving for Wendy's. I never eat Wendy's! Whatever! I needed to eat something! I was able to get that down ok and keep it down. The next day I followed up with my OBGYN to make sure the baby was still ok and to talk about different medications I can take for the migraines. Baby was good and she prescribed me some pain killers. So far everything has been ok as long as I am resting. If I try to do to much the headaches come back. So, I have just been taking it easy and laying around resting.

I can't wait any longer to find out the sex!!!!! As far as the poll looks seems like a lot of you think I'm having a girl!!! =D There's lots of girls being born right now! Seems like everyone is having girls! hehe.. I love it!! I cant wait to start shopping and registering!!! I want to decorate the nursery now!!! =)  I was told by the nurse at the ER that I was very small for 16 weeks! Wonder if this means its a girl?  We will know in a week and a half!!!! =)

Let's see how this week goes! Hopefully better than last! Wish me luck! :)

16 Weeks!

How your baby's growing:

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

How your life's changing:

The top of your uterus is about halfway between your pubic bone and your navel, and the round ligaments that support it are thickening and stretching as it grows. You're probably feeling a whole lot better as you settle into pregnancy, too. Less nausea, fewer mood swings, and "glowing" skin contribute to an overall sense of well-being.
Soon you'll experience one of the most wonderful moments of pregnancy — feeling your baby move. While some women notice "quickening" as early as 16 weeks, many don't feel their baby move until about 18 weeks or more. (And if this is your first baby, don't be too impatient — you may not be aware of your baby's movements until 20 weeks or so.) The earliest movements may feel like little flutters, gas bubbles, or even like popcorn popping. Over the following weeks they'll grow stronger and you'll be able to feel them much more frequently.

15 Weeks! It's going Fast!!!!!

So, this week has been pretty interesting.. Monday I wake up to go to work after having a nice long Holiday break from work and I go down stairs to grab my lunch to leave and the next thing you know I'm running to the bathroom getting sick :( Monday and Tuesday I was sick all day long. Wednesday I felt a lot better. Thursday I had so much energy I wanted to dance around and Friday I feel just as good! Was this a last smack in the face before its all over with? ugh!

So, I have some exciting news this week! I felt baby move in my belly for the first time!!!!! Such a strange but exciting feeling! =D  I'm pretty sure baby likes Michael Buble's music. Another exciting thing this week is that I booked my appointment for Jan. 26th at 3pm to find out the babys sex!!!! I CANT WAIT!

I added a poll!! Put in your vote!!!! Are we having a boy or girl?!?

15 Weeks!!!

How your baby's growing:

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")
See what your baby looks like this week.

14 Weeks! First Day Of My Second Trimester!!!

How your baby's growing:

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.
In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.
See what your baby looks like this week.
Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.

How your life's changing:

Welcome to your second trimester! Your energy is likely returning, your breasts may be feeling less tender, and your queasiness may have completely abated by now. If not, hang on — chances are good it will soon be behind you (although an unlucky few will still feel nauseated months from now).
The top of your uterus is a bit above your pubic bone, which may be enough to push your tummy out a tad. Starting to show can be quite a thrill, giving you and your partner visible evidence of the baby you've been waiting for. Take some time to plan, daydream, and enjoy this amazing time. It's normal to worry a bit now and then, but try to focus on taking care of yourself and your baby, and having faith that you're well equipped for what's ahead.

First 3 months

We found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks. I was so excited I woke up the morning I was a day late for my period and flew to the store to get a pregnancy test. Sure enough it was positive! We cried together in excitement. We had our friend staying with us at the time so we didn't really talk about it because we wanted to keep it a secret for 3 months or at least until our parents knew. I just couldn't wait to tell anyone! I had to tell SOMEONE! I text my sister "OMG I'M PREGNANT!!!" She said she yelled "OH MY GOD" and was so excited to hear the news. I told her she had to keep it quite until we told our parents.

We decided to do something a little special for our parents. We took a picture with Gizmo (our dog) with a sign that said" I'm going to be a big brother" and we framed it for them. When they found out there was nothing but tears of joy and excitement for baby Dobernecker!! =D

We had our first doctors appointment on Oct. 27th 2010 and we sat down with the nurse practitioner and she told us all the details on pregnancy and what I should be expecting. Drew got a little freaked out but we calmed him down :)

Starting at 8 weeks I was bragging to everyone that I haven't been feeling sick and I felt totally normal and felt great! Leave it to myself to jinx it! Just a day or two later of me bragging I started to feel very nauseous and extremely tired! Boy! They aren't joking when it comes to morning sickness!!! UGH! If it weren't for the god awful smells I don't think I'd feel as bad! I cannot stand the smell of our fridge. I don't know if it's the mixture of the different foods or what it is? But, every time I open it I want to barf! ONIONS! I used to LOVE onions. Now, I CANT stand them! The smell, the texture, the taste! GUH!

As the weeks went on I started to slowly feel a little better. I am now at 14 weeks and the nauseous days seems to be less and less. I feel more energy at times too.  Below you will see the picture we framed for our parents to announce the pregnancy and also our ultrasound pictures! Enjoy!!!

Until next time..... :)
