17 Weeks!!!!

This is the big week!!!!!!!!! We find out what were having on Wednesday!!! I just cant take it any longer!!!! Girl? Boy? Girl? Boy?
This week has been off and on for me. I've had a couple good days and some bad. I met my obgyn for the first time, which was... a bad experience =/ He went to go listen for the baby's heartbeat and couldn't hear it. I could tell he wasn't in the right spot on the tummy. He freaks out and calls the nurse to come in and bring the ultrasound machine immediately!! Now, if you want to give a mommy-to-be a heart attack..THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT! Needless to say everything was fine. He just didn't know what the heck he was doing!  I will be switching doctors lets just say that. I've been seeing the nurse practitioner since the pregnancy has been going so well. I had to see the obgyn this last time because of the migraines. He is referring me to a neurologist to get to the bottom of these migraines. I will update once I know whats going on. But, thats really all thats happened this week. I've just been doing a lot of resting and trying to fight off these headaches. I will be posting on Wednesday once we find out the sex. So make sure you check back!!!!!!!!!

Boy? Girl? Boy? Girl? Boy? Girl? Boy? Girl? Boy? Girl? Boy? Girl? Boy? Girl? Boy? Girl?

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

16 Weeks!!!

So, here we are at week 16 already! I keep hoping these weeks will get easier and they seem to be getting harder :( This week I was fighting extremely bad migraines. It all started on Saturday when I was in tears because my head was pounding so hard! My entire face was numb, my ears were plugged my eyes were fuzzy.. It was horrible! As the days went on the headaches got worse and worse and never went away. Once Tuesday rolled around I couldn't keep any food down. I was in so much pain that I couldn't even keep water in my system. I called my doctor and they told me to go to the ER right away. Drew took me to St. Jude where we checked into the ER (which has amazing service btw). We got in right away and they immediately gave me some pain medication and something for the vomiting. They ran a blood and urine test which both came back normal. The doctor said it was hormones from the pregnancy. So, they hooked me up to an IV and gave me fluids while I rested and let the meds kick in. Whatever they gave me made me very loopy and in a total daze! I had Drew laughing all night long haha!! Once I was released I had this sudden craving for Wendy's. I never eat Wendy's! Whatever! I needed to eat something! I was able to get that down ok and keep it down. The next day I followed up with my OBGYN to make sure the baby was still ok and to talk about different medications I can take for the migraines. Baby was good and she prescribed me some pain killers. So far everything has been ok as long as I am resting. If I try to do to much the headaches come back. So, I have just been taking it easy and laying around resting.

I can't wait any longer to find out the sex!!!!! As far as the poll looks seems like a lot of you think I'm having a girl!!! =D There's lots of girls being born right now! Seems like everyone is having girls! hehe.. I love it!! I cant wait to start shopping and registering!!! I want to decorate the nursery now!!! =)  I was told by the nurse at the ER that I was very small for 16 weeks! Wonder if this means its a girl?  We will know in a week and a half!!!! =)

Let's see how this week goes! Hopefully better than last! Wish me luck! :)

16 Weeks!

How your baby's growing:

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

How your life's changing:

The top of your uterus is about halfway between your pubic bone and your navel, and the round ligaments that support it are thickening and stretching as it grows. You're probably feeling a whole lot better as you settle into pregnancy, too. Less nausea, fewer mood swings, and "glowing" skin contribute to an overall sense of well-being.
Soon you'll experience one of the most wonderful moments of pregnancy — feeling your baby move. While some women notice "quickening" as early as 16 weeks, many don't feel their baby move until about 18 weeks or more. (And if this is your first baby, don't be too impatient — you may not be aware of your baby's movements until 20 weeks or so.) The earliest movements may feel like little flutters, gas bubbles, or even like popcorn popping. Over the following weeks they'll grow stronger and you'll be able to feel them much more frequently.

15 Weeks! It's going Fast!!!!!

So, this week has been pretty interesting.. Monday I wake up to go to work after having a nice long Holiday break from work and I go down stairs to grab my lunch to leave and the next thing you know I'm running to the bathroom getting sick :( Monday and Tuesday I was sick all day long. Wednesday I felt a lot better. Thursday I had so much energy I wanted to dance around and Friday I feel just as good! Was this a last smack in the face before its all over with? ugh!

So, I have some exciting news this week! I felt baby move in my belly for the first time!!!!! Such a strange but exciting feeling! =D  I'm pretty sure baby likes Michael Buble's music. Another exciting thing this week is that I booked my appointment for Jan. 26th at 3pm to find out the babys sex!!!! I CANT WAIT!

I added a poll!! Put in your vote!!!! Are we having a boy or girl?!?

15 Weeks!!!

How your baby's growing:

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")

14 Weeks! First Day Of My Second Trimester!!!

How your baby's growing:

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.
In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.

How your life's changing:

Welcome to your second trimester! Your energy is likely returning, your breasts may be feeling less tender, and your queasiness may have completely abated by now. If not, hang on — chances are good it will soon be behind you (although an unlucky few will still feel nauseated months from now).
The top of your uterus is a bit above your pubic bone, which may be enough to push your tummy out a tad. Starting to show can be quite a thrill, giving you and your partner visible evidence of the baby you've been waiting for. Take some time to plan, daydream, and enjoy this amazing time. It's normal to worry a bit now and then, but try to focus on taking care of yourself and your baby, and having faith that you're well equipped for what's ahead.

First 3 months

We found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks. I was so excited I woke up the morning I was a day late for my period and flew to the store to get a pregnancy test. Sure enough it was positive! We cried together in excitement. We had our friend staying with us at the time so we didn't really talk about it because we wanted to keep it a secret for 3 months or at least until our parents knew. I just couldn't wait to tell anyone! I had to tell SOMEONE! I text my sister "OMG I'M PREGNANT!!!" She said she yelled "OH MY GOD" and was so excited to hear the news. I told her she had to keep it quite until we told our parents.

We decided to do something a little special for our parents. We took a picture with Gizmo (our dog) with a sign that said" I'm going to be a big brother" and we framed it for them. When they found out there was nothing but tears of joy and excitement for baby Dobernecker!! =D

We had our first doctors appointment on Oct. 27th 2010 and we sat down with the nurse practitioner and she told us all the details on pregnancy and what I should be expecting. Drew got a little freaked out but we calmed him down :)

Starting at 8 weeks I was bragging to everyone that I haven't been feeling sick and I felt totally normal and felt great! Leave it to myself to jinx it! Just a day or two later of me bragging I started to feel very nauseous and extremely tired! Boy! They aren't joking when it comes to morning sickness!!! UGH! If it weren't for the god awful smells I don't think I'd feel as bad! I cannot stand the smell of our fridge. I don't know if it's the mixture of the different foods or what it is? But, every time I open it I want to barf! ONIONS! I used to LOVE onions. Now, I CANT stand them! The smell, the texture, the taste! GUH!

As the weeks went on I started to slowly feel a little better. I am now at 14 weeks and the nauseous days seems to be less and less. I feel more energy at times too.  Below you will see the picture we framed for our parents to announce the pregnancy and also our ultrasound pictures! Enjoy!!!

Until next time..... :)
